Untamed Concert

Case Overview

The Grind Issue is a quarterly print magazine developed to highlight the rhythm, resilience, and creativity of Nairobi’s urban scene. Designed as both a collectible and a conversation starter, the publication merges bold editorial design with storytelling that feels modern and distinctly Kenyan.

Each issue blends long-form journalism, striking photography, and playful typography. As a result, it offers readers a break from digital fatigue while showcasing a curated slice of culture, design, and innovation. The magazine format was intentionally tactile — matte paper stock, textured covers, and sharp, minimalist layouts — making every copy feel timeless and worthy of display.

By positioning The Grind Issue as a premium yet accessible publication, the goal was to elevate local publishing while engaging both Kenyan readers and global audiences curious about East African creativity.
